Serious Sam's Bogus Detour is an enjoyable top-down shooter adding to the Serious Sam fanchise, with it's action packed violence and all the trademarks of the original games, including weapons, humor and over the top action that you would expect from any other Serious Sam games.

With a considerable campaign mode, that can be played solo or up to 4 players, as well as a Versus mode and Survival mode, with up to 12 players. Playing with friends is even easier with an in-game editor to create amazing maps for you and your friends to fight to the death. Steam Workshop also has maps and game modes to download. Even though there isn't much on the Steam Workshop at the moment, I do recommend getting Bomber Sam, a Serious Sam version of the classic Bomber man. The game plays much like other top-down shooters, with a large variety of weapons from the Serious Sam universe, including the trusty shotgun through to the crowd pleasing Minigun.

Throughout the campaign you will encounter familiar enemies from the series to make mince meat, including Kamakaze troopers and the Biomechanoids, all which add an interesting elements to the gamesplay. RPG elements are also present in the game that adds an interesting edge in the campaign, from increase to rate of fire, health and armour, all are needed to survive the hordes of enemies you will face.

Developers Crackshell previous game "Hammerwatch" looks and feels similar, but in the Serious Sam universe they have managed to incorporate an unique take on the primarily focused FPS based game and still include the humor, guts and guns from the original, making it a fun game, whether playing solo or with friends.
