WWE2K18 on the Nintendo switch is very much the same as on the PS4 and X1. The biggest difference really is the graphics. This is a good thing. Once again, we have been shown that the Switch can handle these types of games.

The other upside is that the Switch seems to make a somewhat mediocre game fun again. I wasn’t a massive fan of the game on X1 as it just kind of felt like more of the same from years past with a few additions. Playing WWE docked on the big screen is still much the same as the other consoles alo, but playing on the move in portable mode felt way more fun.

As far as I can tell, nothing has been left out of the Switch port of WWE2K18 from the other platforms version.

The controls are responsive and easy to use. There also didn’t seem to be any frame drops or tearing in portable mode. However, while playing Royal Rumble, I did notice that when a new challenger was being announced to enter the ring, the game would pause like it is loading said player. This pause would only last about 2-3 seconds, but was still annoying. I didn't seem to have the same sort of issues as I have read about either.

I enjoyed playing on the Switch whereas not so much on the other platforms. I still, for the life of me, don’t know why, but I just did. If games such as this continue to make their way to the Nintendo Switch this year (providing they are ported correctly), we will see Nintendo finally have something to take on Microsoft and Sony in their own playground they have dominated for so long.

You can read our X1 Review for a complete & detailed breakdown of the game itself, I wanted to offer up my thoughts on the Nintendo Switch version VS PS4 & X1.
