This game is a 5 V 5 team based shooter from Hi-Rez Studios, The game is similar to other team based games like over watch. There is no single player campaign and you must have a stable internet connection to play.

Powering up the game when you first start you are greeted with a basic menu with the game options, these are pretty self explanatory. But once you get to the character selection screen the character roster is impressive with 36 characters to choose from. All the characters have certain distinctive references to other well-known characters in other games, but they are named different and modified enough that they aren’t the same.

They all have their classes such as Front Line, Damage, Support and Flank. Each character has his or her set of unique skills, abilities and weapons. Each character also has ability cards that can use to create card loadouts. These can be used in different ways depending on your play style, you can even level up your character without even playing a match, it will just cost a lot of coin.

The game modes consist of:
Team Death Match: - it’s a 5v5 fast pace combat where you and your team have to get a certain number of kills to win the match.

The other is Siege Mode: - here you must capture a point and pushes a payload of bombs towards the enemy base to win.

Once you hit level 15 and own as least 14 champions, you get to qualify to play in ranked matches. Your character will level up after each match and you will get more XP if you win the match rather then lose it. With each level you gain, you will be rewarded with money to purchase character skins, other decals and perks.

Team work is key to winning games. I found out and there is nothing worse than being placed into a team where the healers don’t’ heal the tanks and everyone does their own thing. There is no greater feeling then a team that works well together and winning the match. Once you reach level 15 you will unlock Ranked where you are pitted against sterner competition, there are rewards in the form of chests that provide you with additional customisations and gold that you can choose to spend as appropriate.

The controls are ok, but it found it easier to play with a Switch control pad. If you’re used to playing FPS games on other consoles such as PS4 or Xbox, you will find this a lot easier rather than using the joy cons. Each players ability are displayed on the screen and the button it’s mapped to, which I found good as I often get confused with what does what if a character has too many abilities.

Game match-matching was quite fast looking for games as you can select the region you are in and I also found that it always tries to balance out the teams evenly with one of each class in the team.

The graphics are really good and the character designs are great. Each character is different and you can see the attention to detail that was used in creating them.

This is a fast-paced game with intense 5v5 action. I found it very additive and fun. There are heaps of characters to choose from and try out. I’m not a fan of having to buy crystals just to be able to buy chests for items, but that is the “in thing” these days. Hopefully they will add more game modes with future updates. Overall, if you’re a fan of games like Overwatch, give it a try.
