Sabotage are an Indie Game Studio founded in April 2016 and based in Quebecc City. They are bringing their debut title "The Messenger" to the gaming industry. Definitely a studio to watch, as they are also working on the new title Oddworld: Soulstorm.

You are a Ninja of the last few human survivors in a far away village. You are in training in preparation of the return of demons that want to finish eradicating human life. As the game suggests you are The Messenger, tasked with taking a scroll to the Three Sages.

The game is very well presented, it really does hit me in the retro feels. Making me remember those old school Ninja Platform games. The music by Rainbowdragoneyes is brilliant and plays the retro style amazingly well. One touch I love is when you enter water and the music changes style in accordance.

It does very well in making you feel content with it being a simple platform but then shows you the reality of the difficulty ahead. You have abilities that you can add and upgrade from the witty shopkeeper. Genuinely love the humour in this game, even from the wardrobe scene if you continue to try and look inside. Being forced to listen to a philosophy and not being able to skip, he gives you plenty of warning. Also has a nice tie in text for the publisher Devolver Digital. That need no introduction, with their hard work and calibre of games entering the industry.

You collect time shards to upgrade your abilities from using Cloudstep to attack and double jump from lanterns in the game to gaining them from fallen enemies. It plays just how it should for a platformer and offers controller support.

I highly recommend this game, I can not put it down. Except to write a review...
