The Australian Speedrun Marathon 2026 (ASM2026), the flagship annual marathon of the AusSpeedruns community, is returning to Adelaide from Tuesday 14 July to Sunday 19 July, raising funds for Game On Cancer®, a Cure Cancer initiative.
Held at the Adelaide Rockford Hotel, ASM2026 will bring together some of Australia’s most passionate speedrunners for six days of live runs, community moments and donation incentives, with fans able to attend in person or tune in live via the AusSpeedruns Twitch channel.
Speedrunning is the art of completing video games as quickly as possible, often requiring intense practice, technical skill and deep knowledge of each game. This year’s ASM2026 schedule features a packed line-up of games and categories, including Donkey Kong Bananza, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga, Pokémon Scarlet/Violet, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D, Hollow Knight: Silksong, Pokémon Platinum, F-Zero GX, Spyro: Year of the Dragon, Halo 5: Guardians, Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time and Call of Duty: Black Ops III.
Tickets are available through the AusSpeedruns website for $40, with donations to the fundraiser able to be made online throughout the event.
The event builds on the success of ASM2025, which raised over $50,000 for Game On Cancer®.
Stephen Philp from AusSpeedruns said: “AusSpeedruns is proud to bring the Australian Speedrun Marathon back to Adelaide for another year of speedrunning, community and charity. ASM has always been about more than playing games quickly. It is about bringing people together, celebrating the skill and dedication of our runners, and using that energy to make a real difference. We’re thrilled to once again support Game On Cancer® and help fund bold new ideas in cancer research.”
Game On Cancer® is Cure Cancer’s community-powered initiative that brings people together to help fund ground-breaking cancer research. Since its inception, the Game On Cancer® community has raised more than $2 million to help accelerate research across ALL cancer types.
Emma Kirkman, Head of Fundraising at Cure Cancer, said: “The AusSpeedruns community has been such an important part of Game On Cancer®’s story. Their passion, generosity and commitment show exactly what can happen when people rally around something they love and turn it into real impact for cancer research. We’re incredibly grateful to everyone at AusSpeedruns, and to every runner, volunteer, viewer and donor helping to power promising new research ideas through ASM2026.”
