‘Two Point Museum’, another instalment in the ‘Two Point’ series brought to you by Two Point Studios and Sega, is an engrossing management sim boasting heaps of customisation and plenty of wonderful and wacky exhibits to display in your museums, creating the ultimate guest experience.

As this was my first game in the series, I wasn’t surprised to find how quickly I got addicted to it, given the large amount of content and how much there is to do within the game apart from just managing a museum.

Two Point Museum is similar to the other Two Point games; however, you can curate multiple themed museums across various locations. Your task is to create the most enticing and informative museum, so guests are satisfied with the experience. This may sound easy, but trust me, it isn’t. You must also keep on top of the exhibit buzz, clean rooms, malfunctioning vending machines, and children who are never entertained for longer than two seconds.

Starting to equip your museum with artifacts, you can send staff on thrilling expeditions to different points of interest (POI) around the county, like Bone Belt, Two Point Sea, Netherworld, Bungle Bunker and Known Universe. These expeditions vary in difficulty, but you can combat this with extra items such as a med kit for snake bites. Staff must also have specific qualifications, such as survival skills.

You can also change the survey level of each expedition, which will determine the maximum quality of the exhibit. Speaking of staff, there are multiple staff roles for you to manage, such as experts to maintain exhibits and send on expeditions, assistants to work ticket booths and gift shops, security to collect donations and deter criminal activity and most importantly, janitors who clean messes and repair facilities, to name a few.

Staff are your main financial expense, so they should be well-managed to conduct their duties effectively. You can also train these staff to gain more qualifications by building a training room to help send them on expeditions or even carry out their day-to-day duties.

Across your various museums, Memento Mile, Passwater Cove, Wailon Lodge, Bunge Wasteland and Pebberley Heights, you will encounter a vast array of guest types, a total of 18 guest types to be exact. You will see them all, from science enthusiasts to goths to clowns, even those children I mentioned earlier. Make sure to keep them off the exhibits. Keeping guests happy is key to your museum’s survival, as the backbone of the financial system is donations.

Building a well-decorated museum with basic facilities such as toilets, drink machines, and food machines is the best way to start before you alter ticket prices or trinkets. To help satisfy the customers, you can consult the sticker book containing a wealth of information outlining guest preferences for a fulfilling visit and what they want the most at the gift shop. There’s even a sandbox mode that allows you to build massive mega museums.

Two Point Museum is not short on content to fulfil your museum management needs and keep you intrigued for hours. It has 200+ unique exhibits to discover, 300 decorative items, five different expedition maps, and various tasks or challenges to conquer. At one point, I noticed that the game became a little laggy due to the number of decorations I had in one section of the museum, but it did not subtract from my otherwise great experience of the game.

Two Point Museum brought the heat visually. It retains the quirky yet charming cartoon look that fans of the series love. Each exhibit is highly detailed, and splashes of vibrant, bright colours provide a wonderful experience for the eyes, giving the game a playful overall visual experience.

The delightful sounds of Two Point return with its mystical soundtrack and humorous Two Point radio that series players will remember. Sound-wise, there isn’t too much going on. Still, the backing soundtrack provides a superb audio experience that contrasts with the visuals to create a relaxing feel, aiding the player’s experience.

To sum up, Two Point Museum provides players with an excellent overall experience, with heaps of content to discover and superb graphics and sound. It gives players total creative control to create the biggest and best museums for guests to experience. As said in our preview, Two Point Museum lived up to its promise of creating a fun and humorous simulation experience that’s intensely focused on creativity, customisation, and management. Yet again, Two Point Museum is another standout hit among series fans.
