One of the hardest lessons I’ve ever had to learn is the importance of a high-quality gaming chair. Sure, you might save some money in the short term by choosing a “gaming” chair from your local furniture store, but in my experience, they become very uncomfortable after a few months.
You might have the fastest system on the market, and maybe you splurged on the best peripherals, but none of that matters if sitting down to play a game leads to discomfort or the possibility of long-term health problems. Just like your gaming system, you really should invest in a high-quality gaming chair.
We received the elegant black AndaSeat Kaiser 4 for review, and it immediately impressed me with its subtle, modern aesthetic. The design avoids unnecessary angles and overly aggressive lines, focusing instead on a clean silhouette wrapped in what Anda Seat calls sustainable leather. Not only does the texture feel premium, with a smooth, slightly matte finish that avoids the cheap plasticky feel some PU leathers have, but it’s also stain-resistant, solvent-free, and extremely easy to wipe down, so keeping it looking brand new isn’t going to be a challenge.
Underneath the upholstery is one of the chair’s biggest strengths: high-density cold-cure foam. AndaSeat has been known for using this type of cushioning, but the AndaSeat Kaiser 4 truly benefits from it.
The foam strikes a balance between firmness and give, supporting your weight without flattening out. Even after a few extended sessions, I noticed there was no sinking, no awkward pressure points, and no shifting around trying to get comfortable again.
Where the AndaSeat Kaiser 4 really starts to separate itself from competitors is in the back support system. Instead of the usual external lumbar pillow, typically attached by elastic bands, Anda Seat uses a 24° pop-out lumbar module powered by an elastic locking gas spring. With one pull of the lever, the lumbar support eases forward, and you can lock it at any angle that feels right. Inside that module is a fully adjustable mechanism offering 76 mm of height movement and 30 mm of depth adjustment.
Some chairs advertise 4D armrests and call it a day, but AndaSeat pushes beyond that. Using 6D armrests, they offer more directional control, easier buttons, and firm lock-in-place mechanisms. Whether you’re using a controller, mouse and keyboard, handheld device, or simply need your arms resting naturally, these are among the best armrests I’ve used. They don’t wobble, they don’t drift, and they’re very easy to dial in.
With a magnetic head pillow, you won’t have to worry about straps or fiddly clips either. It just snaps into place wherever you prefer. The memory foam inside is plush and supportive, and the cooling layer does make a difference during long sessions or in warmer climates. It’s a small detail, but one that enhances the premium feel of the chair.
For the more relaxed gaming sessions, the AndaSeat Kaiser 4 supports a 135° backrest recline, which is also great for lounging and watching your favourite streams, but it also supports a rocking mode, offering 15° of movement for anyone who might struggle to sit still for extended periods. This felt surprisingly smooth as well, with the raised sides and gently sloped front edge helping to prevent sliding..
Available in two different sizes, both size ratings come with an SGS Class 4 gas lift, providing about 6.5 cm of height adjustment to accommodate users between 150 cm and 210 cm in height. The “L” size is capable of supporting users up to 120KG, while the “XL” size is rated right up to 180KG. That’s a huge range, and it makes the AndaSeat Kaiser 4 genuinely suitable for a wide audience.
After spending time with it, the most impressive thing about the AndaSeat Kaiser 4 is how well all these elements come together. Every feature serves a purpose, and the engineering feels deliberate. Even the chair’s weight and frame provide confidence that it’s built to last.
The AndaSeat Kaiser 4 stands out as a premium gaming and productivity chair that genuinely prioritises long-term comfort and health. Its innovative lumbar system, sturdy foam construction, and incredible adjustability might push it into the higher pricing bracket, but if you’re going to spend hours in front of a screen, the AndaSeat Kaiser 4 feels just as good after a full day’s use as it did the moment you sat down.
