ASUS ZEPHYRUS G14 Gaming Laptop – Review

The ROG Zephyrus G14 makes powerful, ultraportable Windows 10 Pro gaming accessible to everyone. Featuring up to an 8-core AMD Ryzen™ 9 5900HS CPU and GeForce RTX™ 3060 GPU, this slim and stylish powerhouse rips through the most demanding apps and games. Two gorgeous display options—high-res, high-refresh 120Hz QHD or ultra-fluid 144Hz Full HD—keep you immersed with lifelike, Pantone® validated colours. Quad speakers pump out lush Dolby Atmos audio, while exclusive Two-Way AI Noise cancellation makes voice chat crystal clear. Live life at Zephyrus speed with the ultimate blend of power and portability.

* AniMe Matrix™ LED display only available on select models.

I have done a video review for the G14, rather than a my usual written review style. Yes, I am aware that I should have someone more camera friendly in front of the lens, but for now, I will just have to suffice HAHA.

This G14 is a fantastic all-round package that will have you covered from work and play. The RTX 3060 truly did surprise me with its performance. The “AniMe Matrix” is cool, but for most it will be just a gimmick, and as usual, the ASUS Armory Crate software continues to annoy by crashing its “LightingService” constantly.

**I would also like to clarify that ASUS official specs say that 24GB is the maximum capacity for the RAM and in my video I state that 40GB is its limit. We popped a 32GB stick in beside the 8GB on-board memory without any issues. On boot up, the device showed 40GB total RAM.

Our review model hardware specifications:

AMD Ryzen™ 9 5900HS Mobile Processor (8-core/16-thread, 20MB cache, up to 4.6 GHz max boost)

NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 3060 Laptop GPU
With ROG Boost up to 1382MHz at 60W (80W with Dynamic Boost)
6GB GDDR6
14-inch 120HzWQHD (2560 x 1440) 16:9 anti-glare display
8GB DDR4 on board + 8GB DDR4-3200 SO-DIMM // **MAX CAPACITY: 24GB
512GB M.2 NVMe™ PCIe® 3.0 SSD
