For the past 25 years, Snakebyte has been designing third-party gaming hardware and accessories, selling over 30 million products to date. Thanks to the folks at Snakebyte, we had an early hands-on experience with one of their latest products, the Snakebyte Power Charge S2, which is now available in parts of Europe and will soon be coming to Australia.

The Power Charge S2 comes neatly packaged in a small box labelled with some information on the back. Inside, you’ll find the charger itself, three different attachments, and a USB-C to USB-C cable, all neatly stored in their respective slots, along with instructions, product information, and a warranty guide. The Snakebyte Power Charge S2 is designed for the Nintendo Switch 2, which is typically only compatible with Nintendo-brand chargers and cables. Therefore, this is a great accessory to have for those who need a spare charger, replacement, or for travelling with their Switch 2.

Not only is this charger useful as a spare or replacement, but it’s also perfect for those travelling abroad who need to charge their Switch 2 but don’t have the correct plug for that country’s power outlet. This charger is compatible with various regions around the world, with the main charger being for North America and parts of South America. The three extra attachments are for other regions, including Oceania, Europe, and the United Kingdom. Unfortunately, power outlets in certain regions may not be compatible with the Snakebyte Power Charge S2. However, having four different regions in one product still makes this an excellent charger to have with you on the go.

The main charger already has two prongs built in that can easily be folded out and folded back in. The attachments are simply inserted with the main prongs folded in, and then you plug it into the power outlet to charge your Switch 2. The attachments can be easily removed by sliding them out, and the charger can also be used to charge other devices, providing you with plenty of versatility with just one piece of hardware.

The actual charging is fast, efficient, reliable and safe thanks to USB Power Delivery 3.0 (PD 3.0) and modern GaN technology. Its small and simple design makes it easy to pack in any bag, case and even in your pocket with the prongs folded in and no attachments on. This product isn’t currently listed on the Australian Snakebyte website, so a price is not available at this time. However, based on the price listed on the European website, it should be around $35.00 AUD, which is a fantastic price for what it offers.

The Snakebyte Power Charge S2 is an incredibly well-made charger designed specifically for the Nintendo Switch 2, but also works with other devices. Being able to use one piece of hardware to charge your devices in four different regions around the world makes it one of the most convenient products to own, as it eliminates the need for separate adaptors for different regions. For those who wish to take their Switch 2 out and about, especially on overseas travels, the Snakebyte Power Charge S2 is an absolute must-have travel accessory.
