For the past 25 years, Snakebyte has been designing third-party gaming hardware and accessories, selling over 30 million products to date. Thanks to the folks at Snakebyte, we had an early hands-on experience with one of their latest products, the Snakebyte Sling Case S2, which is now available in parts of Europe and will soon be coming to Australia.

The Snakebyte Sling Case S2 is designed for the Nintendo Switch 2, allowing players to travel with Nintendo’s latest handheld hybrid console while keeping it safe. Snakebyte often describes their products as “gaming gear that we like to use ourselves”, and it’s easy to see why with their stylish designs. The Sling Case S2 comes with a cardboard label containing information that can be easily removed from the top pocket.

The case is made of robust nylon with an extra-soft microfibre lining inside, providing some padding for the Switch 2 and other contents. The exterior also features a stylish design with a black and blue, swirly, watery pattern. The sling is made of nylon and can be adjusted to fit most body sizes. The two zippers keep all the contents securely in place.

The sling case features two pouches: the main one for the Switch 2 and the other for smaller items, such as chargers, cables, game cartridges, and even the Pro Controller. The Switch 2 can be inserted and removed from the main pouch smoothly, without worrying about the thumbsticks getting caught and possibly broken off.

Although the sling case is encased with padding, it may not be the safest option if players accidentally drop it with their Switch 2 packed inside. However, it still provides plenty of protection to prevent serious damage, as long as it’s not done excessively. As long as you look after your console and the sling case, there shouldn’t be anything to worry about.

The original Nintendo Switch can also fit inside this sling case, but being slightly smaller than the Switch 2, it leaves some space inside. As a result, the console will move around a bit more, but it remains safe for the most part. This product isn’t currently listed on the Australian Snakebyte website, so a price is not available at this time. However, based on the price listed on the European website, it should be around $35.00 AUD, which is a fantastic price for what it offers.

The Snakebyte Sling Case S2 is an incredibly well-made and stylish case designed specifically for the Nintendo Switch. It keeps the Switch 2 console and various small items safe and secure from accidental drops.
