When shopping for a premium gaming headset, it often feels like manufacturers are all chasing the same checklist. Better sound, better microphones, longer battery life, and more software features. While most of those improvements are welcome, they rarely feel genuinely new. The SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro Omni is one of the few headsets that actually bring something different to the table.

Built as the next evolution of SteelSeries’ flagship headset lineup, the Arctis Nova Pro Omni combines Hi-Res wireless audio, active noise cancellation, a broadcast-quality microphone, and what SteelSeries calls OmniPlay. It is a feature set designed to remove the barriers between gaming devices, allowing players to connect, mix, and control multiple audio sources simultaneously.

The first thing that stands out is the sound quality. The SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro Omni is Hi-Res Audio certified, delivering 96kHz/24-bit wireless audio over both its gaming-grade 2.4GHz connection and Bluetooth LE Audio. While those numbers may not mean much to everyone, the result is noticeably cleaner and more detailed audio than many traditional gaming headsets.

Custom-tuned Neodymium Magnetic drivers provide plenty of clarity across the frequency range, helping everything from subtle environmental effects to explosive action sequences stand out. Whether you’re listening for distant footsteps in a competitive shooter or simply enjoying a game’s soundtrack, there is a level of detail here that feels closer to a quality pair of audiophile headphones than a typical gaming headset.

SteelSeries also includes support for 360 Spatial Audio, adding another layer of immersion and helping players determine where in-game sounds are coming from. Combined with the extensive EQ options available through Sonar software and the Arctis mobile app, there is plenty of room to tailor the audio experience to individual preferences.

Audio quality is further enhanced by the headset’s active noise cancellation system, and combined with a hybrid four-microphone setup, the SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro Omni actively reduces background distractions, allowing games, music, and chat to remain front and centre. Transparency mode is also available for situations where you need to hear what’s happening around you without removing the headset.

While the audio performance is impressive, the feature that truly separates the SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro Omni from its competition is OmniPlay.

Most gaming headsets allow simultaneous Bluetooth and game audio, but SteelSeries has taken that concept several steps further. Through the included GameHub base station, users can connect up to three devices via USB-C, alongside a Bluetooth connection and an optional line-in source. In total, the headset can mix up to four audio sources simultaneously.

That means you can be playing on a PlayStation 5, chatting with friends on Discord through a PC, listening to music from your phone, and still have another audio source connected if needed. Better yet, everything happens seamlessly in real time without constantly swapping cables or changing inputs.

For content creators, streamers, and players who regularly jump between multiple platforms, this level of flexibility quickly becomes addictive. Once you experience having every device available at the same time, traditional gaming headsets start to feel surprisingly restrictive.

Communication is another area where SteelSeries has invested heavily. The retractable ClearCast Pro microphone delivers excellent voice quality thanks to a new high-bandwidth design capable of transmitting significantly more voice detail than previous gaming headset microphones.

Built-in AI Noise Rejection helps to remove background sounds from your outgoing communications as well. Keyboard clicks, fans, television noise, and general household chaos are dramatically reduced, allowing your voice to come through clearly regardless of the platform you’re playing on. Best of all, the processing happens directly within the headset, meaning console players benefit just as much as PC users.

The included GameHub base station provides instant access to volume, EQ adjustments, source mixing, and battery management through a simple OLED display and control dial, but for those looking to dive deeper into your audio settings, the Arctis mobile app offers even more control.

One particularly useful feature is access to more than 200 game-specific audio presets. Popular titles such as Call of Duty, Fortnite, Apex Legends, GTA, and many others have dedicated tuning profiles developed by audio engineers, esports professionals, and game developers. Instead of spending hours manually adjusting sliders, players can simply select a preset and immediately benefit from optimised audio.

Battery anxiety is practically non-existent thanks to SteelSeries’ Infinite Power System. The headset ships with two hot-swappable batteries, allowing one to charge in the GameHub while the other remains in use. With up to 30 hours per battery on 2.4GHz wireless and fast charging that provides four hours of use from a 15-minute charge, running out of power becomes a thing of the past.

Comfort remains another strength. Despite packing a considerable amount of technology into the headset, the SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro Omni remains relatively lightweight at 339 grams. Plush memory foam ear cushions, a suspended headband design, and even weight distribution make it comfortable enough for lengthy gaming sessions without becoming fatiguing.

The SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro Omni feels like a genuine step forward for premium gaming audio. Exceptional sound quality, industry-leading connectivity, excellent microphone performance, and virtually limitless battery life combine to create a headset that is as versatile as it is impressive. For gamers who split their time across multiple platforms, it may be one of the most complete gaming headsets on the market.
