During today’s Nintendo Direct, Capcom revealed Dragon’s Dogma™ 2: Dark Arisen. The long-awaited Dark Arisen Expansion for Dragon’s Dogma™ 2 will release for PlayStation®5 and Xbox Series X on the 9th of October 2026. Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen, containing both Dragon’s Dogma 2 and the Dark Arisen Expansion content, will also arrive for the first time on the Nintendo Switch™ 2 on the same date.

The company also announced the highly anticipated Onimusha™: Way of the Sword is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 and launches day-and-date with other platforms on the 25th of September 2026. Finally, Devil May Cry™ 5 Devil Hunter Edition, the stylish Nintendo Switch 2 version of the critically acclaimed action game, was unveiled and will be available physically on the 28th of August 2026.

Your Unwritten Epic Begins in Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen

Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen enriches the dynamic fantasy world and expansive adventures of Dragon’s Dogma 2 with unforgettable new tales and thrilling encounters, while bringing the pulse-pounding action game to Nintendo Switch 2 for the first time. Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen releases for Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X on the 9th of October 2026. The Dark Arisen Expansion will also be available separately as DLC for the base game on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.

The Dark Arisen Expansion summons the Arisen to the long-abandoned Northern region of Norgan, where they must join forces with the enigmatic Eir to unravel the secrets of the undying Fallen Dragon. Throughout their journey, the Arisen must unearth and appraise forgotten relics to unlock powerful new weapons and skills. The expansion also introduces 12 Lost Rites Dungeon Challenges. These freshly uncovered dungeons house trials designed by the Pathfinder to sharpen the Arisen’s skills and recover rare equipment once held by past Arisen that now lay dormant. Arisen, looking to tailor their appearance, will also gain access to new options added to the robust Character Creator, including new hairstyles and tattoos.

In the lead-up to the Dark Arisen Expansion, there will be two major updates to enhance the gameplay experience of the base game. Today’s update makes fast travel more accessible with the addition of the reusable Eternal Ferrystone alongside other quality-of-life adjustments for various parts of gameplay. The second update, coming at the end of August, brings improved frame rates, additional save slots, and further refinements to the quality-of-life adjustments.

Onimusha: Way of the Sword Comes to Nintendo Switch 2

Onimusha: Way of the Sword, an all-new entry in the Japanese swordplay action game series, launches for Nintendo Switch 2 on the 25th of September, releasing simultaneously with PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and PC.

Players can also get even closer to the action with exclusive motion controls on Nintendo Switch 2. This input option wields the Joy-Con 2 controllers, offering an intuitive way to enjoy the title’s exhilarating sword combat and perform other in-game actions, such as aiming with the bow.

Onimusha: Way of the Sword is the first brand-new entry in the Onimusha franchise in 20 years. The dark fantasy adventure follows the story of Miyamoto Musashi, a young samurai whose legend is etched in Japanese history, as he battles monstrous Genma invading Edo-period Kyoto. Armed with the mystical Oni Gauntlet, players will wield power beyond human limits to take down creatures from the underworld in absorbing combat that matches depth with intensity.
