Fortnite Summer Smash Charity Trios Teams Announced

The first trios teams who will compete in the Pro-Am charity event at the Fortnite Summer Smash at Australian Open 2020 have been revealed.

The Pro-Am will kick off the AO Summer Smash weekend on Saturday 1 February and feature 30 trios teams made up of the biggest names from the Fortnite community, sports and entertainment, competing for a share of $100,000 in charitable donations.

The inaugural 2019 Pro-Am champion MrFreshAsian launches his title defence by joining forces with YouTube superstar Lachlan and Sydney musician Enschway.

“I’m so excited that we have international players coming to play in Aus and hopefully I can get two Australian Open Charity Pro-Am wins in a row,” Harley ‘MrFreshAsian’ Campbell said.

Reuben Styles of Peking Duk returns to join Muselk and 2019 Fortnite World Cup qualifier x2TwinsJordan.

“I’m incredibly excited to see the Australian Fortnite community come together for this amazing event. The 2019 AO event was an incredible time, and the inclusion of so many international talent this year should make the 2020 event even more special,” Elliot ‘Muselk’ Watkins, said.

Brisbane Lions midfielder Mitch Robinson will team up with Chiefs Esports Club compatriot Slaya and Perth YouTuber Mau whilst LazarBeam, comedian Dave Hughes and Renegades’ newly signed pro player Rel have combined to create what some have called the powerhouse team of the tournament.

“From playing in front of 95,000 at the MCG, I never thought I’d play a video game on Margaret Court Arena during the Australian Open. In 2019 the arena and the buzz was something I’ll never forget, it was a first in Australia and I’m so excited to be back again at this years’ AO Summer Smash next weekend, ” Former AFL star turned gamer Mitch Robinson said.

The Fortnite Summer Smash is set to place on 1-2 February during finals weekend at the Australian Open 2020.

Following the Charity event on Saturday, 90 of the best Fortnite players from Australia and around the world including BenjyFishy, Mitr0, EpikWhale, and World Cup duo winners Nyhrox and Aqua will descend on Margaret Court Arena on Sunday 2 February to compete for a total $400,000 in prize money in the Solo’s Fortnite event.

AO Summer Smash tickets are available via Ticketmaster and start at just $10 for kids and $54 for adults, which also gives access to the entire AO precinct and the AO Live Stage which will feature Bastille and Ziggy Alberts on Saturday and Sunday respectively.

The final trios teams will be revealed this coming week.
