GCAP 2023 Date And Focus Announced

IGEA is delighted to deliver another instalment of Game Connect Asia Pacific (GCAP), Australia’s professional and internationally recognised game development conference. GCAP 2023 will take place in Melbourne during Melbourne International Games Week (#MIGW23) from 2-4 October 2023.

GCAP focuses on professional development, education and providing invaluable networking experiences for delegates, connecting them to industry peers from this region and abroad. GCAP 2023 will be held in person at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, with the keynote presentations being streamed live via Twitch.

The focus for GCAP 2023 is Empower.

In recent years, Australia has consistently impressed and delighted global audiences with critically acclaimed game titles and world class developers. The future for Australian game developers is bright and they will be faced with many exciting and new prospects. GCAP 2023 aims to empower developers to achieve their vision for themselves, their teams, their art and their technical skills through:

  • Delivering practical sessions for studios big and small looking to grow sustainably
  • Educating and exploring new tools and techniques available to create games
  • Gaining and sharing knowledge from experienced, professional speakers
  • Meeting and making meaningful connections with peers and broader industry stakeholders

GCAP 2023 will feature three days of premium content sessions and interactive workshops from experienced game developers and industry professionals, delivered by local and international presenters, all tailored towards intermediate to advanced developers.

GCAP 2023 will provide many opportunities to network with all delegates and speakers, through custom networking platforms like MeetToMatch, bespoke networking events within the schedule, plus booths where you can get hands on with development products and meet local developer teams.

On Wednesday the 4 October 2023, IGEA celebrates the Australian game development industry at the Australian Game Developer Awards (AGDAs). Previous AGDA winners have seen their games achieve international success such as Unpacking, Cult Of The Lamb, Untitled Goose Game and more, so this is a must for your calendar. We’ll have more exciting details to announce soon.
