Developer Cold Symmetry and publisher Playstack are thrilled to announce that the dark power fantasy Mortal Shell II will be available worldwide on Thursday 20th August, 2026 for PlayStation 5. Pre-orders for Mortal Shell II are now live at select retailers for the Standard Edition and the Revered Edition.

The announcement follows the outstanding response to the Mortal Shell II Beta, which was downloaded by more than 500,000 players in less than two weeks and surpassed more than 6 million views across YouTube, Twitch, and shortform video.

The Mortal Shell II release date was revealed via an enthralling new trailer, set to the song “Darker Thoughts” from the pioneering British metal band Paradise Lost. The epic trailer showcases for the first time the complete set of eight playable Shells that are discoverable in Mortal Shell II’s compact open world.

Mortal Shell II, developed by series creators at Cold Symmetry, is available on 20th August in physical disc format on PS5, with pre-orders open now for the Revered Edition – a special collector’s version featuring a comprehensive Artbook, Exclusive Steelbook, Limited Edition Fine Art Prints, all presented in a special Collector’s Box.
