Squanch Games has officially introduced their eponymous action-adventure title High On Life to PlayStation®Plus! Within the indie developer’s eccentric first-person shooter, humanity is threatened by an alien cartel who wants to use them as drugs. It’s up to you to rescue and partner with charismatic, talking guns, take down Garmantuous and his gang, and save the world.
During High On Life’s release week in December 2022, the game quickly became the #1 seller on Steam, kicking off a whirlwind of record-breaking triumphs. In the days following its debut, the breakout title from Squanch Games became the biggest Xbox Game Pass release of 2022, the largest 3rd Party Launch in Game Pass history, and the biggest single-player launch ever on Game Pass. By April of 2023, High On Life accrued a prodigious 7.5 million unique players.
The next chapter of High On Life will continue to augment the title’s user base, allowing an even broader audience to engage with the zany antics of talking weapons across a thrilling set of intergalactic missions. Gamers with a PlayStation®Plus subscription will now enjoy the weird and wacky worlds of High On Life, much of which has its players taking part in the following:
Rescuing and teaming up with charismatic, talking guns to become the deadliest intergalactic bounty hunter the cosmos has ever seen.
Navigating dynamic and changing worlds that range from a jungle paradise, to a city built inside an asteroid, the hub of the cosmos.
Leveraging the unique skills of each gun to go up against a variety of criminals as you track down the nefarious Garmantuous and his gang of alien goons.
Completing hunter challenges, meeting weird, fun and hilarious characters, collecting an array of alien technology, and more!
Squanch Games continues to expand the world of High On Life with a variety of offerings across a number of mediums. The game’s story carries on with a rousing four-issue comic series of the same name released in summer 2024 with Titan Comics (alongside an associated graphic novel compilation). Standard and Collector’s physical editions for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X were also released in partnership with Limited Run Games. Today, fans can purchase an assortment of High On Life wares: Physical copies for PS5 on Amazon, apparel from the High On Life IGN Store, “The Art of High On Life” official art book from Titan Books, and the all new High On Life plushies from Kidrobot.
