Team Liquid & Alienware Open The World’s Largest Esports Operations, Housing and Training Center

The largest sports, administrative and housing center of an esports organization in the world is in São Paulo. Team Liquid, one of the most successful esports organizations in the world, and Alienware, Dell Technologies’ gaming-focused PC and hardware brand, have just inaugurated an entire 13-story building on Avenida Angélica, in São Paulo, Brazil, as its headquarters for training and operations in the region.

The entire building was completely renovated to house over 80 employees and athletes who will work, train and even live on site. Team Liquid’s staff and players will have access to more than 3,000 m² of floor area, equipped with the latest technology and amenities that have become synonymous with the Alienware Training Facilities. In addition, the São Paulo site will house Team Liquid’s first physical store in the world, among other attractions.

“Brazil is a priority in Team Liquid’s plans, and the new facility is yet another symbol of our investments in local talent and fans,” says Rafael Queiroz, general manager of Team Liquid in Brazil.

“Since the beginning of last year, we’ve announced Liquid’s first female line-up worldwide, brought the Liquid Store and the Liquid+ platform to the country, launched collabs with Marvel, Fortnite and Naruto, and participated in major events, such as BGS [Brazil Game Show] and CCXP [Comic Con Experience]. We are and will remain very close to the Cavalry community [Team Liquid Brazil’s local monicker], and the launch of this facility reflects the importance of the country within the organization’s global strategy.”

Team Liquid’s third Alienware Training Facility worldwide is twice the size of its predecessors , located in Los Angeles, USA and Utrecht, Netherlands. Player comfort and wellbeing is at the forefront of the building’s layout, with 19 bedrooms with suites spread across 5 floors intended for Team Liquid’s local athletes and visiting teams. Dedicated spaces for physical and mental health, including a gym, a pilates studio, and a performance laboratory are within the players’ convenience.

The facility also offers a floor completely dedicated to player training, with rooms equipped with the Alienware Aurora R15 desktop PCs. These scrim rooms have two review rooms attached, where coaches and analysts will carry

out their strategy and performance reviews. In addition, soundproofed streaming booths with high-performance equipment, including three cameras and microphones, are available to athletes for the production and streaming of live content over the internet.

Team Liquid’s regional staff will occupy four floors with offices, ten conference rooms, fully equipped studios for photo and video production, editing stations, decompression spaces, and living areas for administrative and marketing employees. Team Liquid currently has 80 employees in Brazil, including athletes, of which around 90% will use the facility on a daily basis.

For Queiroz, the new venture is a milestone in the already long-standing partnership between Team Liquid and Alienware, and a great sporting advantage for the organization’s athletes.

“The partnership between Team Liquid and Alienware is the oldest in the esports universe, and Alienware’s technology has been instrumental in allowing our Cavalry to get to where it is. The competitive scene has grown a lot in recent years, and studies by Newzoo estimate that in 2022 the sector earned around US$ 184.4 billion, a result that is only possible due to the maturing and professionalization of the sector, in addition to the support of large companies”.

“At Alienware, we are excited to take another leap forward in our long partnership with Team Liquid by delivering our 3rd state-of-the-art facility to reinforce our commitment to professionalize esports training around the globe”, says João Duarte, marketing director for Dell Technologies in Brazil.

“We worked with Team Liquid to deliver a technological project that starts with a Dell Technologies’ IT infrastructure that will support everything from the organization’s administration to the very high-performance Alienware equipment that will boost the talent of these and next generations of players in the squads headquartered in Brazil”, he explains.

The Alienware Training Facility will also be a gathering place for local fans to celebrate their love for the organization. The building’s design includes a Fan Zone, which will host events for the community. On the ground floor of the building, visitors are greeted by the first physical Team Liquid store in the world. 136-inch and 86-inch screens with games and scenes from Team Liquid history will play throughout the day, and a large shelf of trophies won by Team Liquid will be on prominent display.

At the top of the building there is a restaurant with capacity for 35 people that will serve employees and guests, in addition to an open-air rooftop with a panoramic view of iconic spots in the city of São Paulo, such as the Copan building.

The technology used in the server infrastructure and the high-performance machines offered to gamers in the facility is all provided by Alienware and Dell Technologies. In all, there are 39 desktop computers from

the new Aurora line and 92 Alienware and Dell UltraSharp branded monitors. To keep everything connected, 8.25 km of CAT6a network cables and 400 meters of fiber optics were used. The architectural design of the building was executed by the office of Athié Wohnrath – Architecture and Construction.

With the launch of the Alienware Training Facility, Team Liquid reinforces its legacy of innovation in its more than 20 years of history and becomes the only esports organization with three state-of-the-art training facilities on different continents. Currently, Brazil has three professional teams from Liquid (Valorant, Rainbow Six Siege and Fortnite) composed of 24 talents, including gamers, content creators and streamers.

The Alienware Training Facility is located at Avenida Angélica, 903, in the Santa Cecília neighborhood, in the center of São Paulo. Those interested in participating in events to get to know the place should stay tuned to the facility’s schedule, which will be published on the official Team Liquid networks.
