With this year’s Mardi Gras parade through Sydney’s CBD being replaced by a limited-seating, ticketed event, much of the city’s LGBTQIA+ community will be looking for new, accessible ways to connect and celebrate this weekend. Enter Twitch!

Twitch is spotlighting nine LGBTQIA+ streamers that are celebrating Mardi Gras on stream.

Already this week, we’ve seen Mardi Gras themed streams from Australian comedian and actress, best known as lead singer of comedy group Axis of Awesome Jordan Raskopoulos, co-founder of the Aussie Pride Twitch Team Lachlie who is raising money for The Trevor Project all the way up to Sunday, and Kayla Erin who built a Mardi Gras themed house on the Sims 4.

To finish with a bang, these streamers will be celebrating until the very last day of the festival:

• On Thursday, March 4:
  • Grim Cookies will be celebrating in Simlish, making Mardi Gras themed characters in The Sims 4 and recreating the event in the game starting at 7pm tonight
• On Friday, March 5:
  • YasieTV will getting LGBTQIA+ streamers together to play party games to celebrate being themselves and the bravery it takes to do so at 6pm
  • KNITEcoser will be celebrating and chatting with their community on their experience as an LGBTQIA+ person at 8pm
  • Alexarius will be streaming for charity supporting LGBTQIA+ youth at 10pm
• On Sunday, March 7:
  • The grand finale of this week’s streams, MadameGandalf will be playing a special, silent, charity one-shot table top roleplaying game called “Alice is Missing”–an emotionally heart-wrenching game with an LGBTQIA+ youth as its title character, raising money for NZ organisation RainbowYOUTH, at 10am
  • Briziana will be putting on an IRL stream for the final day of Mardi Gras at 6pm
