The largest esports league in Australia, League of Legends Circuit Oceania (“LCO”), today announced a partnership with leading record label Warner Music, which will see the company come on board as the league’s first Music Partner for 2021. The partnership will see Warner Music integrated across all LCO channels & live broadcasts, bringing their music and artists to the fairly untapped gaming and esports audiences in Australia and New Zealand.
As part of the deal, Warner Music will supply a ‘Song of the Day’ to the LCO for each day of broadcast throughout the esports league’s 9-week season, which reached a total of over 750,000 unique viewers in it’s inaugural Split 1 earlier this year. Fans will be able to engage with each ‘Song of the Day’ in a new LCO Playlist curated by Warner Music specifically for the league. Warner Music will also have the opportunity to provide live music acts for any LCO live
“We’re stoked to welcome Warner Music on board as the inaugural Music partner of the DoorDash LCO.” said Graeme Du Toit, Head of Commercial for the DoorDash LCO. “Our fans are young, highly engaged digital consumers, who listen to music as one of their main forms of entertainment. To be able to introduce them to some of Australia & New Zealand’s top new & emerging artists through this partnership is a perfect fit for the league.”
A Warner Music Australia spokesperson adds:
“We’re extremely excited to launch this partnership with the LCO. We see this as an amazing opportunity to reach a highly engaged and relatively untapped audience in a time where the worlds of Music and Gaming have never been closer. We’re looking forward to introducing some of our amazing Australian and New Zealand artists to the broadcast, as well as creating new local fans for our international stars”
Split 2 of the DoorDash LCO starts today (Tuesday, June 15th), and is broadcast every Tuesday & Wednesday online, on twitch.tv/lco.
