Pokémon GO Fest 2025: Global returns as the grand finale of this year’s multi-city GO Fest season, uniting trainers from across the globe for two action-packed days of research, raids, shiny hunts, and special encounters. It was held on the 28th and 29th of June 2025.
This free-to-access event brought millions together in shared celebrations. Those who upgraded with a paid ticket received bonuses, exclusives, and mythical encounters, which shaped up to be one of the more rewarding events in Pokémon GO history. Did you manage to catch ’em all?
The biggest surprise was the long-awaited worldwide debut of the Mythical Pokémon Volcanion. The community had expected Volcanion after an exclusive appearance at the in-person Go Fest Events in Osaka, Jersey City, and Paris, and he is now available to global ticket holders. Trainers with a ticket could unlock a special research story that not only dives into the lore but also grants a one-time encounter with it. If you had been lucky enough to catch it at the in-person event, and if you caught it again, you would be rewarded with Volcanion Candy, maintaining its rarity but also offering returning players some value.
There were some exciting firsts for collectors and shiny hunters alike, as for the first time, ticket-holding trainers had the opportunity to encounter Skiddo and Klefki globally. Skiddo, previously exclusive to select City Safari events, and Klefki, normally restricted to France, both made their worldwide debut, which was a major highlight for Pokedex completionists.
Adding to the already exciting event was the addition of Shiny Carbink and Shiny Frigibax, who made their in-game debut. You could find Carbink in the Moonless Volcano habitat, whilst Frigibax could be found on the Hynotic Tundra, and they were both available on both days, which gave trainers a good chance to catch the glittering new attractions.
If you are one of the trainers who got involved in the raids, you had some access to some cool-looking variations. Frigibax was featured in the one-star raids, offering a chance, as its newly released shiny form, Dapper Pikachu, was sporting red, blue, or yellow accents, which appeared in the three-star raids. Five-star raids rotated between Saturday and Sunday, featuring powerful legendary Pokémon, including crowned Zacian and Zameazenta, making the raid lineup one for the history books.
You could find some event-themed Pokémon in the wild rotating across four habitats, changing hourly throughout both days. Each habitat, Moonless Volcano, Galvanic Dojo, Hypnotic Tundra, and Fae Swamp, featured unique Pokémon for the event. You could find some fan favourites such as Fuecoco, Golett, Flabebe and Fletchling. There was a diverse spawn pool, and high shiny potential for exploring was a must.
In addition to the rotating habitats, Pokémon GO Fest 2025: Global also featured day-long themed wild encounters that added a little more excitement to the Pokémon hunting. On Saturday, the theme was shield-themed, featuring Pokémon like Chansey, Skarmory, Larvitar, and Shieldon, which appeared all day. On Sunday, the focus shifted to sword-themed Pokémon, including Cubone, Ralts, Deino, and Passimian, with a rare Jangmoo also in the mix.
In conclusion, Pokémon GO Fest 2025: Global delivered a truly legendary experience, blending nostalgia, innovation, and excitement across every aspect of the gameplay. From the long-anticipated debut of Volcanion to the global firsts like Skiddo, Klefki, Shiny Carbink, and Shiny Frigibax, the event offered something new for all trainers. Here’s to the memories made, Pokémon caught during one of the most ambitious and rewarding Go Fests to date.
