Since its debut in 2019, Apex Legends has been one of the premier online multiplayer hero shooters, published by Electronic Arts and developed by Respawn Entertainment. Season 25 is set to arrive on May 6th, but MKAU Gaming was given an early preview of what Apex fans can expect.

First, a brand new character, Sparrow, is set to make his mark on the Apex Games. He is an archer from Italy with a pet cat named Artemis. Sparrow sports a red, black and white outfit with red highlights in his natural dark hair to accompany the colour scheme. His weapon attached to his arm gauntlet seems to be a hybrid of a crossbow and a bow and arrow. When just using his left arm, it works like a crossbow that can shoot tracker darts that can reveal enemy positions within its range of view when stuck on a surface.

When he turns it sideways, it becomes a bow and arrow as he uses his right arm to pull the rope back and line up his shot. He comes equipped with regular arrows and some trick arrows, including ones with explosives, similar to Hawkeye from Marvel Comics, who also happens to be a highly successful hero shooter.

Sparrow is also agile and has the ability to double jump and jump off walls. For his ultimate move, he shoots a Stinger Bolt that gets planted into the ground and covers a wide area. Enemies caught within its range will be shot with pulses that will damage and slow them down. The damage it inflicts also heals Sparrow, so enemies must proceed cautiously.

Sparrow comes from a long line of bounty hunters, but his family shunned him. He joins the Apex Games not only for the spotlight but also in hopes that his family will see him compete, earn their respect, and maybe even be reunited someday. He can be a showoff but is self-aware and remains humble. He is lighthearted, disciplined and takes care of his teammates. Artemis is a stray cat he adopted who also brings out his humble side as it accompanies him in his ventures. When Season 25 releases, Sparrow will be temporarily unlocked for every player and can be permanently unlocked by completing a set of launch challenges.

Also in the upcoming season is the return of Arenas, as a new set of prodigies to carve out their legacies on these hallowed grounds to prove greatness in a series of fast-paced, action-packed 3 on 3 battles. Here is where players must eliminate the enemy team to win a round. The first team to win 3 rounds will claim victory. It’s great to see this classic mode back, but new twists are coming later this season that will keep players on their toes.

Later on, in this season, all players will get a new 1 on 1 variant of Arenas called Duels, for players who want to fight to test their skills and not rely on their teammates. This is where players will get the chance to prove themselves in the Apex Games.

There’s also a new Ranked Ladder to climb, giving players the chance to show they are among the best. This won’t affect the regular ranked progress. Instead, regular ranked matches will help players advance through the leaderboard and compete for more rewards, including a new Ranked Dive Trail.

Some other minor upgrades and quality-of-life updates are coming in Season 25. It is shaping up to be a big season, and Apex fans are excited to return to the action. Sparrow is a well-fleshed-out character with a unique take on the archer-type combatant.

Of course, he will bring that Italian charm and shoot his shot. The return of Arenas will also have fans hyped, and the 1 on 1 version will provide a whole new dynamic for players to test their skills and show what they’re made of. Apex Legends Season 25 is approaching fast, and the players will be ready to blast their way back into the action of the Apex Games.
