Time is ticking down to the highly anticipated release of Battlefield 6, set to launch on October 10th, 2025, and the excitement is reaching new heights. Recently, EA extended an invitation to MKAU Gaming to go hands-on with a fresh build of the game. During the session, we had the opportunity to explore two massive, large-scale maps set to feature at launch, while also experiencing some of the new, fine-tuned in-game mechanics that promise to make this the best Battlefield to date, with increased chaos and intensity.
When Battlefield 6 launches, players will be treated to two exciting, large-scale maps that set the tone for the Battlefield’s all-out warfare experience. The maps have been designed to take full advantage of the franchise’s signature sandbox style, offering more space to breathe, freedom to maneuver, and a strong emphasis on vehicle-based combat.
There is a greater variety of vehicles since we saw in the Open Beta weekend, with players now being able to expect battles to feel larger, more dynamic, and more unpredictable, regardless of whether you’re infantry or behind the wheel of a vehicle.

The first map we got to check out was Mirak Valley, the largest map available at the launch. This map was built with vehicle warfare in mind, delivering expansive open spaces for tanks, aircraft, and transports to dominate, while still offering infantry players the opportunity to engage in tense close-quarter combat in the heart of the map, inside the construction zone.
Long-time Battlefield fans will rejoice with the awaited comeback of Operation Firestorm, which was made famous in Battlefield 3. Now over 15 years old, this iconic map has been reimagined with massive updates, including an improved cover, refined sightlines, and, of course, the destruction has now been enhanced. This now supports combined arms warfare across land and air. Operation Firestorm has been rebuilt to deliver a truly modern Battlefield experience.
As we saw during the Open Beta weekends, Battlefield 6 is bringing back the classic large-scale modes that fans know and love, including Conquest and Breakthrough. Developers have introduced a brand-new gamemode called “Escalation”, which builds on the foundation of Conquest, offering a high-stakes arms race to victory where teams must secure and hold three capture points to claim the win. This sounds easy, but I can assure you it’s not. It’s a clutch-focused gamemode that thrives on strategy and teamwork.

Alongside modes, several gameplay improvements and new features have been implemented. The must-talk-about ladder gadget we saw in the teaser trailer for Battlefield 6 has made its debut, implemented into the Assault class, allowing players to place it and climb into buildings or through windows, opening up a range of new tactical opportunities.
Weapon customisation has also been expanded with deeper options and rebalanced recoil and range, diversifying playstyles and shifting the in-game meta. Movement has been slightly refined to feel a little more authentic while still maintaining that Battlefield feel, and the vehicles have also undergone some maintenance, feeling substantially better than during the Open Beta weekend.
With Battlefield 6 just around the corner, it’s clear that DICE and EA are doubling down on everything that made the franchise a household name, whilst pushing the entire experience forward in meaningful ways. With the release of Mirak Valley or the awaited return of Operation Firestorm, the game is shaping up to be the best Battlefield 6 release to date, and I’m excited to see you all on the battlefield on October 10th.
