EA SPORTS F1 24 (Hands Off) – Preview In Progress

MKAU Gaming was recently invited to a digital preview event for the upcoming EA title EA Sports F1 24, and this title is going to be one that all the F1 fans will get right behind, we got to see an exclusive early look at the launch trailer and needless to say I’m ready to get behind the wheel and leave Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton in the rearview mirror.
There are two editions for this title; the Standard Edition will be coming out on the 31st of May 2024 and then the Champion Edition will be dropping on the 28th of May 2024 so you can get your hands on it a little earlier if you are wanting to.

There have been some huge adjustments to the physics and handling in EA Sports F1 24 and the cars have never felt or looked so alive. The first thing the team talked about was the suspension kinematics, with the current engine they are using they can make the suspension handle so much more realistic than ever before, with the movement if you are hitting the curbing or slamming onto the brakes coming into a corner you will feel and see the suspension doing its job in the vehicle and for the immersive detail adds another level.

One of the things that caught my attention the most was the new weight transfer which will be awesome when you are throwing the car around the corner doing 100km/h or more as you will feel the car want to shift its weight to the left or right, coming into corners, hitting the brakes, and taking off again will feel awesome.

The suspension was a two-part section as it also falls in line with the updates with the tyre models. The developers said this is the most realistic a tyre has ever behaved with the wear and tear racing around the track, down to how the tyre behaves so if you do have not much tread you are not going to have as much control, and the same with having fresh tyres you are not going to be able to throw it as hard until those tyres have got heat into them. You will also notice some differences with the suspension upgrades as to how the tyre feels when you are flying around the track with the suspension also acting differently.

The next one has been something the F1 community have been asking for a while now, but playing around with the vehicle aerodynamics will now affect how the vehicle handles more with the other two updates. You can adjust your aerodynamics with the wing angles and ride height, so playing around with that and the improved tyre and suspension could either end well for you or you will end up in the kitty litter with your hands in your face asking yourself why. Being able to adjust more things on the race cars has also allowed players to make the cars their own and tinker with the tunes and performance of each vehicle.

Needless to say with the upcoming changes to the title from last year I’m keen to jump into the driver’s seat and see what the developers have shown us unfold into a great racing simulation. From the sounds of things, this game is going to be absolutely unreal.
