Uncharted: Legacy Of Thieves Collection (PC) – Review

With many Playstation-exclusive games now on PC and many more to come, Uncharted joins the ranks with its Legacy of Thieves Collection, including the latest two entries in the Uncharted series.

Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection comes bundled with Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and Uncharted: Lost Legacy. Now on PC, you’ll be able to push the performance of these games to their absolute limits, if you have the rig to do so that is. A quick recap of the story for each game is in order before we dive into the nitty gritty.

  • UNCHARTED 4: A Thief’s End
Taking place several years after his last adventure, Nathan Drake is forced back into the world of thieves after Sam, Drake’s presumed dead brother, shows up seeking Nathan’s help to save his own life and offering an adventure Drake can’t resist.
  • UNCHARTED: The Lost Legacy
You play as Chloe Frazer, who enlists the help of renowned mercenary Nadine Ross to recover an ancient artifact, the “Golden Tusk of Ganesh,” to keep it out of the hands of a ruthless warmonger.

Unearth a wide variety of enhancements, such as improved UI for game options, reimagined user interfaces, the addition of scale sliders for some menus, GPU and VRAM detection and management options, as well as adding Auto Pause, minimize in the background and Variable Load Speed support, along with a host of other additions.

Being able to push our games to the absolute limit via our PCs is what we love, I myself am running an RTX 3080 with a Ryzen 9 5950x, accompanied by 32GB of DDR4 RAM. Initially, on the boot of the game, it was automatically set to ultra in the graphics and surprisingly ran very smooth, getting over 100FPS consistently playing at 1440p. When switching over to 4K, I tended to sit around 60 – 80FPS, which is completely acceptable and still felt incredibly smooth.

For the ones with a less powerful machine, there is a tonne of options to help cater to smoothing out your experience, whether you run an Nvidia card using the DLSS or an AMD card using AMD FSR 2. These two options work great with helping your computer find a good balance, whether you want quality or performance, along with the Advanced Graphics settings to also help find a good balance for yourself.

Oddly enough, it doesn’t seem to have a full-screen exclusive mode. This usually tends to help with performance and would have been nice to have as an option, you are only able to choose from Windowed or Windowed Borderless. I went with the latter when I was playing. A little thing to be prepared for and not to worry about is when you change which title you are wanting to play via the menus. The game will shut down and boot again as the other title. This did worry me at first and I thought the game was crashing.

Play your way by choosing your preferred; controller or mouse and keyboard, with full support for all, whether your want to use a DualShock 4 controller with all of its features, like the haptic feedback and dynamic trigger effects, or an Xbox controller if that’s more comfortable for you. Uncharted: Legacy of Thieve’s Collection will automatically detect the controller you are using and give you the correct UI and controls to match, which are fully remappable if you find the default settings not right for you.

All in all, a great port, it is good to see more games becoming available to a wider audience, and for fans that might have changed over to PC and looking to revisit them one more time, definitely worth picking up. It would also be good to see the other three titles make an appearance on PC.
