Dark Scrolls (Steam) – Preview

Dark Scrolls is the latest game from “Doinksoft” in the platform genre, sent to the team for a preview by publisher Devolver Digital. It takes me back to when I was young and glassy-eyed in the Commodore 64 era. Let’s jump in and see if the latest offering can generate

Super Sketch Bob (Steam) – Review

At first appearance, ‘Super Sketch Bob,’ by Waywards Thoughts Interactive, is very much a game that may be judged, trialled and executed from consideration. Small development teams can do wonderful things in small packages, and if you dive down into the layers beyond what is first presented, you will find

Hunting Pearl Creek (Steam) – Review

Hunting Pearl Creek seems like a game that can be fun for those types of players who enjoy playing 2D Platformers, but it doesn’t seem like a game that has much replayability as it’s the exact same 9 levels over and over again. It would be nice to see more levels added to give it more of a variety. The music is difficult to deal with when playing after a long time, however and is quick to be muted. I couldn’t return to Hunting Pearl Creek after finishing it, which is just disappointing.

Sofiya And The Ancient Clan – Review

Traditional platforming side-scrollers have helped make up the foundation of gaming with over 40 years’ worth of entertainment. Growing up, the greatest adventures often came from games that had me bounding from one platform to another while racing the clock or meticulously avoiding enemies. Eastasiasoft and H-Room have tapped into

Bit.Trip Series – Review

The Bit.Trip series is made by Gaijin Games and features several arcade-style rhythm games, each using the rhythm base differently. Before I get into the review portion of things though, I would just like to give an epilepsy warning. I have epilepsy and it has been many years since I’ve

Super Mario 3D All-Stars – Review

39 years. That is how old our favourite overall wearing, princess simping, plumber is. Mario, for people my age, is history. He is a marker for moments in our lives, a historical footprint. I remember Saturday mornings playing 64 with him as a kid and afternoons after work relaxing with

Fledgling Heroes – Review

At first glance, “Fledgling Heroes” developed and published by Subtle Boom, looks like a game solely for kids and honestly, from the moment you boot it up it really does give off that air, dare I say it, pungent aroma of child mobile game. Once you delve in though, while
